[Mostly] Wordless Wednesday

If you decide you want a cake for dessert but don’t have the 45 minutes to bake it at 325, hopefully you don’t think you can bake it at 450 for 20. You’ll end up ruining it. A similar thing is true for our fearful dogs. That you need them to be braver within a certain timeframe and think that resorting to force and flooding is going to do it might just leave you with a bigger mess to have to clean.

  5. So true. Unfortunately my husband and i learned this the hard way. Our adopted dog is a Pitty that has been with us two months and is very reactive when out of our house. She barks and lunges at other dogs and people while on leash. We thought maybe showing her videos of dogs would make her get more used to them, more quickly…but now she’s just afraid of our TVs. After reading your posts on reactive dogs though i feel hopeful about managing her triggers and know where we made our big mistake. Thanks so much for such insightful posts. They’ve really helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel.
